My Object: Adding Blue
This painting is one of my first three paintings, and is actually a part of a series of pointe shoe paintings/drawings I have done. I chose to paint pointe shoes because it is very relative to who I am as a person, and my passion for ballet. In this particular painting, I discovered the power of the color wheel, and how using contrasting colors can bring depth to a painting. By adding extra blues and greens to the photo, I was able to make the image pop. It gave the painting voice (I thought it was too boring before). I had to build the courage to add the colors, and was hesitant at first, but I was happy with the results.

| "City Sounds" September 2009 Acrylic on Canvas "City Sounds" was my first painting I had ever done. Basically my time was spent experimenting with the colors, and manipulating the paint to get the paint blends I wanted. This painting is meant to be abstract, and was inspired by the painter, Lana Lisitsa. |
